Dubai Chefs Celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Accession Day of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum with New Guinness World Record

Dubai Chefs joined hands with USA Pears and created New Guinness World Record.  A total of 120 Chefs from all over the United Arab Emirates joined the 12 teams from Jumeirah Creekside, Radisson Blu Hotel DDC, Madinat Jumeirah, Le Meridien Airport, JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, Crown Plaza Shaikh Zayed Road, Waldorf Astoria DIFC, Double Tree by Hilton JBR, Bakemart, Emirates Flight Catering, Caesars Bluewaters Dubai and the Team from International Centre for Culinary Arts Dubai (ICCA) who produced the total of 2209 USA Pear Pie. The Chefs got together at the Arena in Madinat Jumeirah and created one (1) line of pies.

Andy Cuthbert, Chairman of Emirates Culinary Guild and General Manager for Jumeirah Creekside Hotel; Madinat Jumeirah Conference & Events and Jumeirah Hospitality explained about the challenge to stick 100% to Covid – 19 Rules.  The Team set up the table a day before and in the morning of the event day, the full Arena was flogged and sanitized, it was great to see how disciplined all the Chefs worked together

Uwe Micheel, President of Emirates Culinary Guild and Culinary Adviser for Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek highlighted that the production process was overseen by a Team of Dubai Municipality Food Safety Inspectors led by Mr. Sultan Ali Al Taher.  The Auditor Team from Grant Thornton UAE was led by Mr. Khaleel Essa

The old record was 1608 pies.  Chef Uwe said with a big smile, “it was a great feeling to see the Adjudicator and Auditors came up with the final count of 2209 USA Pear Pies.

Representatives from all the supporting suppliers were also present at the event.  Andy Cuthbert thanked the teams of Al Bayader, SAFCO, Lurpak, Farzana, and NRTC for their support.

Chef Uwe confirmed that all the pies have been picked up by Salem for Hope and distributed to three (3) different labor camps in Dubai and Sharjah, we wanted to stay with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and not to forget the needy people who cannot walk into a Pastry Shop regularly and buy cake.
